1. Overview
SnapSlim (“we”, “our”, “the app”) is a file compression application for photos, videos, PDFs and ZIP archives, developed by SnapSlim. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how SnapSlim handles your data.
The short version: SnapSlim processes all files entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to your files or personal data.
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect or access your photos, videos, documents or any other files
- We do not collect your name, email, or personal information
- We do not run analytics of our own; the only tracking comes from our advertising partner, and only with your permission (see section 5)
- The app does not use cookies (see section 9 for this website)
- We do not require account creation or login
- We do not transmit any data to our servers (we have none)
3. On-Device Processing
All compression, resizing and format conversion — for photos, videos, PDFs and ZIP archives — happens locally on your device. Your files never leave your phone. SnapSlim does not upload, transmit, or store your files on any server.
4. Photo Library and File Access
SnapSlim requests access to your photo library solely to allow you to select photos and videos for compression and to save the results back to your gallery. When you compress a PDF or work with a ZIP archive, you pick those files yourself through the system file picker, and the app only reads the files you select. This access is used only when you initiate these actions. Apart from the Free Up Space tool described below, we do not scan, index, or browse your photo library or storage.
Free Up Space. From version 2.3, the Free Up Space tool reads photo library metadata (file sizes, creation dates and dimensions) on your device to list your largest photos and videos. It runs only when you open the tool, needs full photo library access, and the results never leave your device: nothing is uploaded, shared or stored by us.
Deleting originals. After compressing, you can choose to delete the original photo or video. SnapSlim only deletes items you explicitly confirm, iOS shows its own confirmation first, and deleted items stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days. This requires full photo library access, which you can grant or revoke in your device settings.
Sharing to SnapSlim. When you share files to SnapSlim from another app, the system hands them to SnapSlim’s share extension, which copies them into the app’s private storage on your device. They are processed like any other file and are never uploaded.
5. Third-Party Services
SnapSlim integrates the following third-party services:
- Google AdMob (free users only): Displays advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad personalization. Where required (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), SnapSlim asks for your consent through Google’s consent form before showing ads, and you can change that choice at any time under Settings → Ad privacy choices in the app. On iOS, SnapSlim asks for permission through App Tracking Transparency before the advertising identifier can be used; if you decline, only non-personalized ads are shown. You can also change this in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat: Manages in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat processes transaction data through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.
Premium users are not shown any advertisements, and AdMob is not active for premium accounts.
6. In-App Purchases
Purchases are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect or store any payment information. All billing is handled by Apple or Google.
7. Children’s Privacy
SnapSlim does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not collect any personal data ourselves, so there is no age-specific data handling on our side.
8. Data Security
Since all processing occurs on your device and we do not operate servers, there is no data stored by us that could be breached. Your files and settings remain solely on your device.
9. This Website
snapslim.app uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site: pages viewed, approximate location, and device and browser type. In the EEA, the UK, Switzerland and Turkey, analytics cookies are only set after you accept them in the cookie banner; until then Google receives only cookieless signals without identifiers (Google Consent Mode). Your choice is stored in your browser; clear this site’s data to change it. The website shows no advertising. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
